If there ever was a cause…

“If ever there was a cause, if ever there can be a cause, worthy to be upheld by all of toil to sacrifice that the human heart can endure, it is the cause of Education." – Horace Mann

While I may not agree with Horace Mann’s approach to education reform, I could not agree more with his words above. Educating our children is essential to ensuring the future prosperity of the county, and – hopefully – the prosperous futures of the students themselves. Just providing an education is not enough; we must be able to provide quality education that will give kids the skills they need to be successful.
Not only are we not meeting this challenge, but in many ways we are failing. Sure, a lot of kids are getting great education in public schools, private schools, and even at home and online. But we need to provide all kids the opportunity to receive a quality education. If we continue on this path the consequences will be immense, so the time to act is now!

In writing this blog, I hope to have even the slightest impact on the fight to reform K-12 education in America. The Education Reform Bulletin will offer news updates and opinions on all things related to public education, both in Colorado (where I live) and around the country.
